I am a Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with almost 15 years of nursing experience. As a psychiatric Nurse Practitioner I believe in holistic care and healing the mind and body as one. I prescribe psychiatric medications as well as provide therapy within my medication management appointments. I have experience with mood disorders and the LGBTQIA+ community. In my nursing career I have cared for children and adults. I am particularly passionate about working with children, adolescents, and young adults with mood disorders, suicidal thoughts, and trauma. I am currently working with Mindful Therapy Group in Spokane and I have openings in as early as 1 week. Please reach out to Mindful Therapy Group to book an appointment or to me directly for any questions about my practice.
About ME
I grew up in Washington, just North of Seattle. In 2009 I graduated from Gonzaga University with my Bachelor of Science in Nursing and since then have lived in Spokane. I have been a nurse mostly at Sacred Heart working in various places including telemetry, emergency, and the pediatric ICU. All of this experience combined influenced my decision to become a psychiatric nurse practitioner. In 2023 I graduated from Walden University with my Master of Science in Nursing and became a Board Certified Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
I live with my wife, our 3 children, and our stubborn Puggle named Doug. I enjoy hiking, camping, and board games (the real nerdy kind). I have a family history of mental health and I was a foster parent for many years. It is my personal experience in life that has really driven me into the mental health field and I know I have a lot to contribute.
influencing growth
Influencing Growth, PLLC is my own company. I see patients through independent practice and work Tuesday-Friday. I have some training in therapy but I mostly provide medication management. I will strongly encourage anyone seeking mental health care to find a therapist as weekly therapy with proper medication management is the best route for mental healing.
I answer phone calls and e-mails Tuesday-Friday. For scheduling it is best to contact the company I am partnering with - Mindful Therapy Group. They can also help if you are seeking a therapist. I prefer intake appointments to be in person, and follow up can be in person or via telehealth. For children I prefer all appointments in person. Anticipate scheduling to look like a 1 hour in person visit with no prescibing, followed by 3 consecutive weeks of follow up appointments to create a plan for medication management. Follow ups from there every 1 week to 6 months as needed, depending on medication planning.
Mindful therpapy group
I am working alongside Mindful Therapy Group (MTG) and can be booked for an intake appointment by contacting them. MTG has a Spokane at 201 West North River Drive I can be booked for in person appointments there, as well as telehealth if you are anywhere in Washington. I visit the MTG office in Mountlake Terrace (North of Seattle) twice per year to see any of my regular telehealth patients from that area in person. My office hours are Tue-Thur 8am-6pm, and Friday 8am-3pm.
Payment and insurance
I currently accept Kaiser, Premera, UBH, First Choice, Pacific Source, Regence and Cigna insurances. I have private pay/cash pay rates of $250 for a 1 hour intake diagnostic session and $150 for 30 minute follow-up medication managment sessions.
